Sergio Perez rumores de receber extensão de contrato da Red Bull apesar de má performance no Grande Prêmio de Mônaco.

Sergio Perez seems to be Red Bull’s first choice to partner with Max Verstappen next season. Perez’s contractual situation has become a major topic of discussion in the paddock. After his unfortunate incident in the previous race, there are doubts about the Mexican driver’s future with the team. However, recent sources suggest that Red Bull may not be ready to part ways with Perez so soon.

The coveted seat at Red Bull has caught the attention of several other drivers who are eager to seize the opportunity. Perez’s significant crash at the Monaco Grand Prix has led to speculation that Red Bull may start considering other options. However, the team had already offered Perez a one-year contract extension. Nevertheless, the Mexican driver hesitated to accept it and proposed a two-year contract instead.

Despite the lack of concrete information from Red Bull, it seems that Perez is willing to commit to the team. According to Motorsport.com, the 34-year-old driver has decided to finalize a one-year extension with the Austrian constructor. Despite Perez’s recent drop in performance and his fifth place in the drivers’ championship, Red Bull is willing to offer him a contract.

Sergio Perez is on the verge of securing a contract extension with Red Bull, despite a challenging weekend at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Perez had a strong start to the 2024 season, closely following Verstappen’s performance in second place. However, the past few weeks have been tough for the Mexican driver, as acknowledged by team principal Christian Horner. In particular, Perez’s incident in the previous race will require an extra effort from the team.

Horner highlighted Perez’s positive performances in the early races and emphasized the team’s need to support him to regain his confidence. Sergio Perez’s performance is crucial to helping Red Bull establish a bigger advantage over rival teams.

To turn the situation around and reclaim his position, Perez will have to rediscover his form, increase his pace, and start overtaking his opponents. The recent disappointing weekends have caused the Mexican driver to drop to fifth place in the standings. Therefore, the 34-year-old driver will need to make a tremendous effort to secure a second place in the driver’s championship by the end of the season.
