Famin: Ocon enfrentará consequências.

Ocon received a 10-second penalty, resulting in a drop of five positions on the starting grid for the next race in Canada. The stewards determined that he was responsible for the collision at Portier, which caused his car to take off and forced him to retire from the race.

The stewards stated that the collision was solely caused by Ocon’s overly ambitious attempt to overtake from a significant distance behind.

Ocon took to social media to apologize, acknowledging that the collision was his fault and that he had misjudged the distance he was aiming for.

Famin, speaking on Canal+ television, expressed his disappointment with the incident and emphasized that there would be appropriate consequences.

Gasly finished in 10th place, securing the final point for Alpine. He expressed his belief that such incidents should not occur between teammates and revealed that the team had given clear instructions on what to do, which were not followed.

Gasly also highlighted the positives in Alpine’s race report, noting that it was gratifying to score his first point of the season. He praised the team for their hard work in improving performance and mentioned the missed opportunities in qualifying.

Famin echoed Gasly’s sentiments about qualifying, acknowledging that the team did not maximize their performance that day. He described the end result as bittersweet and emphasized the need to avoid situations that could compromise the team.

Ocon admitted his mistake and apologized to the entire team for the incident and his retirement from the race. He acknowledged that the team still scored points, which was his main goal, and expressed his determination to come back stronger.

The team will review the incident between the two cars internally and will strive to learn from their mistakes. Ocon emphasized that mistakes happen and the team will move forward together.
