Leclerc surpasses Piastri for first place in the Monaco Grand Prix standings, Verstappen finishes in sixth.

Charles Leclerc secured his third pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix, while Max Verstappen will start in sixth place. The initial belief that Leclerc was untouchable and Red Bull was struggling was questioned during qualifying, which was affected by heavy traffic and constantly changing track conditions. Despite not leading in Q1 or Q2, Leclerc’s Ferrari returned to its dominant form in Q3, setting an initial time of 1m10.418s. Verstappen, on the other hand, faced setbacks and hit the wall early in his final attempt, pushing him to the outside of the third row. Carlos Sainz, Lando Norris, and George Russell secured the third, fourth, and fifth positions, respectively. Sergio Perez had a disappointing qualifying session, finishing in 18th place, while Fernando Alonso struggled and qualified in 16th place. Lewis Hamilton and Yuki Tsunoda will start on the fourth row, with Alex Albon and Pierre Gasly occupying the fifth row. Sauber had a tough session, with Valtteri Bottas finishing in 19th place and Zhou Guanyu in last position.
