Espargaro vence no Grande Prêmio da Catalunha Sprint, campeão da MotoGP Bagnaia sofre acidente.

Aleix Espargaro conquered an unexpected victory in the MotoGP Catalunya Sprint, while Francesco Bagnaia made an unforced error on the final lap, losing the lead.

Marc Marquez recovered from a disappointing 14th place on the grid and took second place, while rookie Pedro Acosta completed the podium.

Bagnaia and Acosta had a fast start, putting themselves ahead at Turn 1, before the Tech3 GasGas KTM rider made a bold move on the reigning double champion on the second lap.

Alex Marquez made a costly mistake on the first lap, finding himself in last position, while his brother Marquez climbed six positions and reached eighth place.

Meanwhile, Bagnaia and Acosta swapped positions several times in the early laps, until Raul Fernandez of Trackhouse Racing made a smart move on the reigning champion, taking the satellite Aprilia rider into the mix.

Brad Binder followed suit, pushing Bagnaia to fourth place before Fernandez executed an incredibly ambitious move on Acosta to take the lead with his Trackhouse satellite Aprilia.

However, Fernandez’s lead was short-lived as he went into Turn 10 too fast on the fifth lap, resulting in a quick crash that took him out of the race.

Binder passed Acosta and established a half-second advantage before crashing at Turn 5, adding more troubles to his weekend.

Bagnaia made an aggressive move at Turn 3, catching Acosta off guard and regaining the lead, with Espargaro following suit later in the same lap.

On the eighth lap, Alex Marquez collided with Johann Zarco in the final sector, forcing the LCR Honda rider to retire from the race, marking his third crash of the day.

Despite a promising classification, Miguel Oliveira brought more disappointment to Trackhouse, as he lost control of the front of his Aprilia, resulting in a double Did Not Finish (DNF) for the American team.

Marquez fought intensely with Acosta at Turn 1 on the last lap, securing third place, but Acosta’s chance to finish on the podium was revived when Bagnaia lost control of his Ducati at Turn 5, forcing him to retire from the race.

Espargaro’s shaky start proved inconsequential as he crossed the finish line to claim victory in the Sprint, with Marquez and Acosta completing the podium.

Championship leader Jorge Martin narrowly avoided a long lap penalty and finished in a respectable fourth place.

Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Giannantonio finished closely, with Jack Miller securing seventh place on his KTM bike.

Maverick Vinales of Aprilia made an impressive gain of four positions from his starting position and finished eighth, while Marco Bezzecchi climbed the ranks to secure ninth place.

Fabio Quartararo finished ahead of his former teammate Franco Morbidelli, while Alex Rins managed to recover from a poor starting position and finished in 12th place.

Takaaki Nakagami was the highest-ranked Honda rider in 13th, while Alex Marquez failed to make up for his earlier mistakes in the Sprint and finished in 14th.

Joan Mir and Luca Marini closely followed the Gresini rider in another disappointing performance, with Augusto Fernandez unable to extract the full potential of his GasGas KTM, finishing in a disappointing 17th place.

Stefan Bradl finished the race in 18th position as the last classified rider.
