Tsolov vence corrida de F3 em sprint selvagem em Mônaco.

Nikola Tsolov from BGR emerged as the favorite in the Monaco Formula 3 sprint race, maintaining his position despite the chaotic start and subsequent restart. Tsolov led the race from start to finish, with Tim Tramnitz and teammate Laurens Van Hoepen closely following. This victory makes Tsolov the first Bulgarian to triumph in Monaco. Tsolov secured pole position after ART Grand Prix dominated the front row, with teammate Van Hoepen starting alongside him. Tramnitz made an impressive start, overtaking Van Hoepen before a major accident in turn 4 caused chaos on the first lap. The chaos unfolded when Arvid Lindblad collided with Christian Mansell while attempting to overtake, resulting in both cars hitting the wall. This incident also caused collateral damage, taking Alex Dunne, Joshua Dufek, and Cian Shields out of the race and creating a pile-up of cars. As a result, a safety car was deployed, allowing some drivers to pit for quick repairs while marshals worked to clear the stranded vehicles. The situation escalated when the race was red-flagged, as marshals had to retrieve the two cars deeply entwined after the initial chaos. Specifically, Dunne’s front wing was stuck in Lindblad’s Prema Racing car’s diffuser, requiring the use of cranes to separate them.

The race resumed with a rolling start format led by the Mercedes AMG safety car.

Tsolov maintained his position at the front on lap 3, pulling away from Tramnitz and Van Hoepen on the fourth lap and breaking the DRS chain.

During the restart, many drivers struggled to warm up their tires before the tight turn, but the race leader managed to create a small advantage.

Luke Browning made further progress on the restart, gaining two more positions after an impressive jump of 10 positions on the first lap before the chaotic accident.

Beganovic held onto his seventh position, but started to feel the pressure from Williams junior driver Browning, who had a fantastic race on lap 7.

Red Bull junior driver Tramnitz set some fastest laps early on, hoping to reduce the 1.3s gap to Alpine junior driver who was leading.

Sophia Floersch received a 10-second time penalty for going off track and gaining an advantage during the first lap incident, causing her to drop from her provisional 15th position to the last position on the grid.

James Hedley also faced a five-second time penalty for speeding in the pit lane exit, adding extra pressure to his battle with Piotr Wisnicki for 20th position.

Van Hoepen closed the gap to the MP Motorsport driver in second place, while trying to regain his position behind his teammate.

It was an unlucky day for Floersch in Monaco, as she made contact with MP Motorsport driver Kacper Sztuka at the final turn of lap 13.

With another safety car deployment, Tsolov’s seven-second advantage over the Red Bull junior driver was reduced, while Floersch was forced to retire due to significant damage to her front wing.

Tramnitz had a strong restart, holding off Van Hoepen but unable to catch Tsolov, who extended his lead to 1.2s going into the tight corner.

Nikita Bedrin retired from the race on lap 17, while his teammate Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak was struggling in 19th position.

The race leader received instructions from his ART Grand Prix team to build a lead of more than five seconds over Tramnitz, as he was being investigated for weaving at turn 18.

By lap 21, Tsolov had already established a four-second lead over Tramnitz, who was facing additional pressure from Van Hoepen.

Sami Meguetounif dropped down the rankings after slowing down and stopping on track on lap 22, requiring assistance to be taken back to the pits.

Noel Leon from Van Amersfoort Racing secured fourth place, with Van Hoepen claiming third place on the podium for ART Grand Prix behind Tramnitz in second.

Joseph Loake secured fifth place ahead of Campos Racing driver Mari Boya, who held onto sixth position.

Beganovic crossed the finish line in seventh place in the sprint race, ahead of Browning and championship leader Leonardo Fornaroli, and Oliver Goethe.
