Honda mostra futuro elétrico com nova série de veículos

Honda has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with technology giant IBM, for the joint development of next-generation computing technologies needed to overcome challenges related to processing capacity, energy consumption, and design complexity for the realization of future Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs).

The Japanese brand clarifies that “it is expected that the application of artificial intelligence technologies will accelerate widely in 2030 and beyond, creating new opportunities for the development of SDVs”.

In this way, Honda and IBM anticipate that SDVs will drastically increase the complexity of design, processing performance, and corresponding energy consumption of semiconductors, compared to conventional mobility products.

“To address the anticipated challenges and create highly competitive SDVs, it is essential not only to develop research capabilities, but also next-generation computing technologies. Based on this agreement, the two companies are starting to consider long-term joint research and development opportunities”, adds Honda’s statement.

Through this collaboration, the two companies aim to create SDVs that offer the world’s best computing performance and energy savings.

Recorde-se que a Honda anunciou no início do ano no CES de Las Vegas, que que planeia lançar sete novos modelos elétricos da sua série Honda 0 a nível mundial que vão começar a chegar ao mercado em 2026.
