Vasseur revela estratégia da Ferrari para acelerar progresso na F1.

Charles Leclerc, the Monegasque driver for Ferrari, competed in the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola, Italy, on May 19, 2024. Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur announced that the team intends to accelerate the pace at which it introduces updates to its Formula 1 car to keep up with Red Bull and McLaren. Although Ferrari initially appeared to be Red Bull’s main rival at the start of the season, McLaren has taken over that position in the last two races. McLaren’s recent developments in Miami contributed to Lando Norris’s first F1 victory and his close battle with Max Verstappen in Imola. Despite Ferrari introducing updates to its SF-24 car last weekend, Red Bull and McLaren still had the edge. McLaren team principal Andrea Stella believes that the battle at the front of the pack will be determined by how well the race weekends are executed, but Vasseur argues that all aspects will play a crucial role. Vasseur believes that car setup and driver performance will be crucial in the upcoming race in Monaco. He also emphasizes the need to speed up the development process, as a significant update introduced by a competitor could result in a major change in position. However, Vasseur acknowledges the importance of ensuring that all updates made to the car are effective, as the competition has become extremely fierce.

Despite Ferrari having a 55-point advantage over Red Bull in the Constructors’ Championship as the sport returns to Europe, Vasseur states that the title outcome is not predetermined. The Frenchman highlights how the overall hierarchy in F1 can change quickly by pointing out the improved performance of the Italian team compared to the same period last year. Vasseur emphasizes that with only seven races completed out of a total of 24, there are still 17 or 18 races remaining. He recalls how at this stage last season, they were 100 points behind Aston Martin, but managed to finish 100 points ahead of them. This demonstrates that the championship is not decided after just seven races and, this season, with fierce competition, the potential for change is even greater. Vasseur points out that it is rare to have six or eight cars capable of winning a race, meaning that a team’s position can quickly change from first to eighth, resulting in few points. Therefore, the championship standings can be completely altered in just one or two race weekends, especially if there are accidents or retirements. Vasseur admits that he has not looked at the current standings and is unsure of the points difference. However, he believes that if one team secures a one-two finish while the other suffers a retirement, McLaren or Ferrari could reduce the gap to Red Bull. With 17 more weekends ahead, Vasseur urges his team to focus on the next race in Monaco, rather than fixating on the championship. He plans to remind his team to concentrate on each race individually and leave discussions about the championship for another time.

Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen secured a spectacular victory at the Monaco Grand Prix last Sunday. Verstappen, from the Red Bull Racing team, showcased incredible skills as he overtook Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes and clinched his first win at the Monaco street circuit.

The race was thrilling from start to finish, with Verstappen and Hamilton battling for the lead. Verstappen pulled off a phenomenal overtake on lap 53, diving on the inside at Sainte Devote corner, leaving Hamilton with no chance to react.

This victory puts Verstappen in first place in the drivers’ world championship, with a 14-point advantage over Hamilton. Verstappen is determined to maintain his position and clinch the title this season.

Another highlight of the race was Sergio Perez, Verstappen’s teammate at Red Bull Racing. Perez secured an impressive third place, securing the podium for the team.

The next race will be the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which promises to be another thrilling showdown between Verstappen and Hamilton. Formula 1 fans are eager to see who will emerge victorious from this epic battle.
