Lando Norris acredita que poderia ter vencido Max Verstappen no GP da Emilia Romagna se tivesse mais algumas voltas.

Lando Norris expressed his disappointment at losing the race to Max Verstappen in the final stages at Imola. Despite facing challenges with his RB20 throughout the weekend, Verstappen emerged as the winner of the GP. The Dutchman had a tough time in Italy and was seen expressing his frustrations. However, the 26-year-old driver managed to hold off his competitors. In the end of the race, Norris came very close to overtaking the reigning world champion, but ultimately fell short.

Norris was visibly upset with the issues he faced with his RB20 during the race. The 26-year-old driver had also highlighted issues with the chassis during the practice sessions. In the final laps, Norris was in close pursuit of Verstappen, who once again was struggling with the hard compounds. However, some small mistakes by Norris cost him valuable time and, in the end, the race.

Reflecting on the result, Norris admitted it was painful to see the race end the way it did. He believed that with a few more laps, he could have had a chance to win. However, due to significant time loss to Verstappen early in the race, Norris couldn’t secure the victory. Nevertheless, McLaren had an impressive performance against Ferrari.

Norris expressed his satisfaction with McLaren’s performance at the Imola circuit. The team’s car allowed him to have a strong drive and establish a significant lead. This positive display gave McLaren confidence in their ability to compete with Ferrari and Red Bull. Norris acknowledged that McLaren has been consistently fighting for better positions and it is frustrating not to come out on top. However, he remains optimistic that more victories are within reach as the season progresses.

To keep his strong performance, Norris will need to minimize any minor errors, as seen in the Emilia Romagna GP. McLaren has provided him with the best chances to secure victories this season. The team will need to continue making updates throughout the season to maintain their positive momentum. With the skills of both drivers, McLaren is poised to have more opportunities for wins in the races.
