Denny Hamlin sugere que a NASCAR pode estar recebendo pagamento para manter a final da temporada em Phoenix.

Denny Hamlin makes bold statements about the extension of the NASCAR season finale agreement in Phoenix. Since the final was moved from Homestead Miami to Phoenix Raceway, fans have expressed their dissatisfaction. The race has consistently failed to meet expectations, leading to calls for a change in the track. However, despite the criticism, it has been confirmed that Phoenix will continue to host the final race in the 2025 season.

During a recent episode of his podcast Action Detrimental, Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Denny Hamlin shared his thoughts on the announcement. He suggested that NASCAR may be receiving financial incentives from the city of Phoenix or the state of Arizona to keep the races at the track. Hamlin, a three-time Daytona 500 winner, seems quite convinced of his theory.

According to Hamlin, just as the NFL receives financial benefits from certain cities to host games, NASCAR may be receiving similar benefits from Phoenix. Therefore, it makes sense for the sanctioning body to ignore some of the complaints and continue hosting the race in the city.

Hamlin also highlighted the fact that Phoenix is a thriving sports city for NASCAR. The races are always packed, and the fans are among the most passionate in the country. Taking these factors into consideration, NASCAR can afford to overlook any slight decline in the quality of the race.

“It’s a great sports city. There’s a lot to do around the track itself. Coupled with the fact that they are probably receiving significant financial support from the state or city, it makes perfect sense for NASCAR,” said Hamlin.

Hamlin’s theory has some merit, as hosting the race in Phoenix could bring significant economic benefits to the city. If improvements can be made to enhance the race experience, it would be prudent for NASCAR to continue hosting the final in Phoenix. However, if the races cannot be improved, it may be necessary to reconsider the decision to host the final there.
