Allison minimiza saída de funcionários da Mercedes na Fórmula 1 apesar da última saída.

James Allison, the Technical Director of Mercedes AMG F1, downplayed the recent departures from the team in Formula 1 amid speculation that it has parted ways with its Aerodynamics Chief. Ferrari recently announced the signings of Mercedes’ Driver Development Director, Jerome d’Ambrosio, and Performance Director, Loic Serra, to strengthen their team. The departure of these individuals, along with Lewis Hamilton’s decision to join Ferrari in 2025 and Mercedes’ struggles on the track, fueled rumors of instability within the Mercedes camp. However, Allison believes that personnel turnover is a natural occurrence under the cost cap regulations and is happening at all teams in the F1 paddock.

Addressing the significant changes within the organization, Allison stated: “I believe this is part of the normal flow of an F1 team. Nowadays, teams are large and there is a turnover of personnel every year, with people leaving and new faces joining. This trend is prevalent in almost all teams.” Allison, who resumed his current position after Mike Elliott’s resignation, refuted claims of a problematic environment at Mercedes contributing to these departures. He also echoed recent comments from Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff, acknowledging that the team is also attracting talent from rival teams.

When asked about the motivation behind these changes, Allison refused to offer a detailed analysis, stating: “I do not think it is necessary to comment on motivation. It is clear that a team needs a critical mass of experienced and talented people. Although we would prefer not to see these people leave, we are also actively recruiting experienced and talented individuals at a similar rate. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone would rather be with us than anywhere else.”

Vino, who initially joined Mercedes as Chief Aerodynamicist, was later promoted to a more senior position in October 2022 under the current ground effect rules.
