Verstappen: Red Bull F1 faz mudanças para Imola após derrota em Miami

Max Verstappen, from the Netherlands, who races for Red Bull Racing, will be participating in the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix of Formula 1 this weekend. This comes after a disappointing defeat to McLaren in the previous race in Miami. Despite Red Bull’s strong performance this season, with four wins in six races, Verstappen was unable to secure first place in Miami. Lando Norris, from McLaren, took advantage of a Safety Car situation and clinched his first victory in F1. It is worth noting that Norris was able to maintain a faster pace than Verstappen, despite damage to the Red Bull car and worn-out tires. In response to McLaren’s improvement, Red Bull will be introducing new parts for the next race in Imola. However, Verstappen clarifies that these upgrades were already planned in advance and are not a direct response to McLaren’s success. The development process in Formula 1 requires significant time, making the timing of these upgrades coincidental. Verstappen acknowledges the need to continue seeking improvements, as the teams behind Red Bull are gradually closing the gap. The race in Miami demonstrated that when things don’t go perfectly for Red Bull, their competitors are able to take the lead. Therefore, Verstappen emphasizes the importance of minimizing such setbacks in future races.

Norris stated that McLaren would not fully exploit the potential of their upgrades in Miami and expressed optimism that Imola would be a more suitable track for their car. Verstappen is cautious about the potential threat posed by the Woking-based team, although he acknowledges that the unique conditions in Miami made it difficult to assess their true performance. Verstappen acknowledges that it takes time to fully optimize the upgrades and believes that small details can have a significant impact on lap times, especially on a sensitive and hot track like Miami. However, with Ferrari also introducing a significant upgrade to their challenging SF-24, Verstappen admits that it is uncertain where Red Bull will be this weekend. He mentions that other teams, including Ferrari, have brought substantial upgrades, making it challenging to predict their performance. Meanwhile, Perez, Verstappen’s teammate, reveals that Red Bull does not expect a significant performance improvement with their upgrades for this race. He emphasizes that maximizing the balance of the car for different fuel loads is more crucial than the upgrades themselves, which he considers less significant.
