FIA e FOM esperam que tensões diminuam com nova proposta estratégica.

The International Automobile Federation (FIA) announced that it has reached an agreement with Formula 1 to create a “new strategic plan” aimed at benefiting the sport amid recent tensions between the two entities.

There has been a noticeable divide between the two organizations involved in managing the sport in recent times, including the addition of an eleventh team to the grid.

The FIA accepted a proposal from Andretti Racing last October, but Formula One Management (FOM) rejected the team with the same name, citing doubts about the value it would bring.

In addition, the FIA faced criticism when it launched an investigation last December into an alleged exchange of confidential information between two individuals.

The investigation involving Mercedes boss Toto Wolff and Formula 1 Academy Managing Director Susie Wolff was brief and has now resulted in legal proceedings.

Meanwhile, FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem received clearance from the regulator’s ethics department regarding allegations of interference in F1 matters.

However, it appears that both the FIA and FOM are determined to reduce these escalating hostilities, as they have announced their collaboration on a strategic initiative focused on Formula 1.

“The FIA Formula 1 World Championship has never been stronger and is experiencing global growth, and both parties are committed to delivering the best outcomes for the entire sport,” the FIA stated in a released statement.

“With this goal in mind, both parties are developing a new strategic plan that will allow us to seize opportunities and further enhance the potential of Formula 1 in the coming years.”
