Adamastor Furia: superdesportivo português de mais €1,6 milhões que chega aos 300 km/h
The history of the Portuguese automotive industry is full of good examples of the meaning of Portuguese entrepreneurship, the will to “give new worlds to the world”, the enormous capacity to get down to work and turn ideas into reality. In all of them, we find something that unites them: one or two “geniuses” who, sometimes not in the most obvious way, or having to overcome more unusual obstacles, end up successfully bringing to fruition something they dreamed of. Adamastor has much of all this. Much idealism, much passion, and, at the same time, much know-how… The result is the Furia, the supercar that was presented this Tuesday.

The investment in this project amounts to around €17 million from 2019 to this year, and the road version will have a limited production of 60 units, which will be produced in Perafita (Matosinhos).

“The company’s business plan foresees delivering two road cars and two competition versions already in 2025, although the installed capacity planned by Adamastor is 25 cars/year, which we estimate to implement already in 2026. This is in addition to the supply of spare and replacement parts,” highlighted Ricardo Quintas, founder and CEO of Adamastor.

The road version of the Furia stands out for a monocoque chassis entirely built in carbon fiber. All the work done in terms of the supercar’s aerodynamics translated into very encouraging results – in a simulation environment – with Adamastor’s supercar outperforming Formula 2 and Formula 3 single-seaters from the 2021 seasons in terms of downforce, as well as models from the GT3 and LMP2 categories. And all this without the use of the usual large rear wing. In terms of drag coefficient, the results obtained were equally promising, even surpassing the performance of a Formula 1 car from the 2021 season.

With a sculpted background with Venturi effect, one of the main downforce generators, Adamastor’s engineers chose not to equip the Furia with other aerodynamic elements such as spoilers. In addition, all aerodynamic surfaces are made of carbon fiber.

In this way, the company reveals that the Portuguese supercar is capable of generating 1000 kg of downforce at 250 km/h, while the track version reaches 1800 kg at the same speed.

To move this Furia, Adamastor used a 3.5-liter V6 engine from Ford Performance, capable of delivering over 650 hp of power and over 571 Nm of maximum torque.

These numbers allow an acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in 10.2 seconds. The maximum speed is over 300 km/h in the road version.

To tame this Asphalt Fury, the Portuguese brand’s engineers equipped the model with 378 mm discs with 6 pistons at the front, and 356 mm discs with 4 pistons at the rear.

With a length of 4.56 meters, a width of 2.21 m, and a height of 1.09 m, the Furia is equipped with a suspension that features a double wishbone geometry and a coil-over shock scheme, allowing for a wide range of adjustments to make the most of the supercar, both on the road and on the track.

This way Adamastor has no doubts that Furia provides a truly unique ownership and driving experience, while, in a growing market, also positioning itself as a highly collectible supercar with significant appreciation potential.

Perhaps that is why Ricardo Quintas sees brands like Aston Martin and its Valkyrie, as well as brands like Pagani, Koenigsegg, Rimac, not forgetting others like Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, and Ferrari in the supercar category, as the main competitors of his company. We will propose something, in terms of performance, very similar, but with a “keep it simple” approach, a truly competitive proposal.

For all this, the price of Furia is set at €1.6 million plus taxes, which means that to acquire one of the 60 units you will have to spend close to €2 million.

“Adamastor’s cars will be sold exclusively at the factory, where the customer can configure their supercar to their liking. And, when maintenance or repairs are needed, Adamastor will go to the customer instead of the other way around, as is usual,”, Ricardo Quintas concluded.
