Martin sem mais para mostrar à Ducati após vitória em Le Mans.

Jorge Martin confidently declares that he has nothing else to prove to Ducati after securing his second victory in the 2024 MotoGP season at Le Mans. His performance at Bugatti Circuit was virtually flawless, as he clinched pole position and emerged victorious in both the Sprint and main race. With this win, Martin extended his lead in the championship to 38 points ahead of the 2023 champion, Francesco Bagnaia. Now, Ducati faces a dilemma in deciding which rider will join Bagnaia in the factory team for 2025, with Martin, Gresini’s Marc Marquez, and current rider Enea Bastianini all being considered. Martin firmly believes that his consistent results are enough to secure a place in the factory team for the next season.

Speaking after his triumph at Le Mans, Martin expressed his confidence in his abilities and stated, “I don’t believe I need to prove anything.” He also elaborated on his future prospects, emphasizing that the outcome of future races will not alter his position. Regardless of winning or experiencing a crash, Martin firmly believes that he has already done what he needed to do and is satisfied with his performance. When asked if his Sunday victory sent a strong message to Ducati, he acknowledged its importance but remained convinced that it would not change the decision-making process. Martin emphasized that he remains the same rider he was before, regardless of the result, and trusts that Ducati already has enough information to make their choice. He concluded by stating that if Ducati does not want him for unknown reasons, he will gladly offer his talent to others.

Admitting to having doubts about his abilities before the race, the Spaniard revealed that the results validated his belief that he is currently the best driver on the grid. Martin acknowledged that all drivers experience uncertainties before a race and, although he recognizes his own strength, he sometimes questions his true potential. However, crossing the finish line at Le Mans reinforced his confidence, leading him to reflect: “Who is number one? Who is number one?”
