Jenson Button believes that Carlos Sainz is making the right decision by rejecting Audi’s offer for 2025.

Jenson Button acredita que Carlos Sainz está tomando a decisão correta ao recusar a oferta da Audi para 2025.

According to reports, Carlos Sainz missed the deadline set by Audi to secure a contract for the 2025 season. This news has become a hot topic in the Formula 1 paddock, especially after Ferrari announced their decision to replace Sainz. The 29-year-old driver currently finds himself without a contract for the upcoming season. While Audi has shown interest in signing Sainz in recent months, former F1 champion Jenson Button believes it is in the Spaniard’s best interest not to join the German manufacturer.

Button emphasized that Sainz is at a crucial point in his career, having been in the sport for almost a decade. Sainz made his F1 debut in 2015 alongside Max Verstappen at Toro Rosso, now known as Red Bull Racing. Despite his experience, Sainz has yet to have the opportunity to compete for the world championship. Button also stated that Sainz did not want to wait a few more years for Audi to become competitive. Currently, the Alfa Romeo Racing team, run by Sauber, is struggling to match the performance of teams like Haas. It would take time for Audi to establish itself as one of the frontrunners on the track. Therefore, Button believes Sainz made the right decision to reject Audi’s offer.

While Audi may seem like the most convenient option for Carlos Sainz at the moment, both Red Bull and Mercedes have expressed interest in signing the 29-year-old driver. Former F1 star Fernando Alonso recently stated that Sainz would be an ideal choice for Red Bull if Max Verstappen were to leave the team. Jenson Button also advised Sainz to take risks in his career and wait for potential opportunities to join Red Bull or Mercedes next season. However, Sainz has not directly addressed these rumors.

Indisputably, Carlos Sainz needs to secure a competitive seat for the 2025 season. If Audi decides to look elsewhere, the 29-year-old driver should have a contract with a top team. Despite his impressive performances this season, Sainz’s career may be in danger if he doesn’t make a decision about his future soon.
